Install instructions
Windows:
Download the-great-bean-shootout-win.zip and extract it to a folder.
Run BeanShootout.exe
Linux:
Download the-great-bean-shootout-linux.zip and extract it to a folder.
Make BeanShootout.x86_64 executable by either:
Terminal: Open a terminal in the folder and type
chmod +x ./BeanShootout.x86_64
GUI (GNOME): Open the folder and right click on BeanShootout.x86_64 then go to the permissions tab and check 'Allow executing file as program'
Now either double click BeanShootout.x86_64 or type ./BeanShootout.x86_64 in the terminal.
macOS:
Either use the itch.io app or follow the steps
Download the-great-bean-shootout-osx.zip and extract it to a folder.
Move the .app into Applications
Right click on BeanShootout.app and press 'Open' and ignore all of the warnings Apple gives you
Android:
Download BeanShootout_Android.apk and install it
ChromeOS:
There are 2 ways to install the game on ChromeOS
1. Linux development environment:
Enable the Linux development environment by following the instructions here if you don't have it enabled already
Go to the Settings app and search for Develop Android Apps and pick the first one found
Click enable ADB debugging and follow the instructions on-screen
WARNING: You will have to factory reset your device to disable ADB debugging
Restart your device
Open the Terminal app and select the first option
Wait for Linux to start
Type the following to update the repositories:
sudo apt update
Type the following to install adb:
sudo apt install adb
Download BeanShootout_Android.apk
Copy BeanShootout_Android.apk to Linux Files in the Files app
Type the following to install The Great Bean Shootout
adb install BeanShootout_Android.apk
Wait for it to say Success
The game should appear in the launcher.
2. Developer Mode:
You can follow this if you have Developer Mode enabled.
WARNING: Enabling/Disabling Developer Mode WILL erase all user data!
Download BeanShootout_Android.apk
Go to the Downloads folder in the Files app
Right click on BeanShootout_Android.apk and choose Package Installer
Click Continue on the prompt
